The 3D Additive Manufacturing Technology that we use

Born of the a world leader in 3D printing

In 3DPortraitPLUS, we have the tools to create a Digital Image which will later solidify and become a solid object. For this we have the CAD software (Computer Aided Design) and the 3D scanner needed to obtain 3D images in high resolution and color. A 3D scanner captures and process the data in real time to generate a full polygon mesh using color HD cameras and a high sensitivity infrared projector.

How is it done

1. Once you have requested a 3DPortraitPLUS service, an advisor will contact you to verify your information, will review the details and be able to offer you the best solutions.
2. A 3D scanning session will be scheduled. Posing guidelines, hairstyle and clothing suggestions will be reviewed; 3D scanning sessions usually last 5- 10 min. We will make sure that you feel comfortable while posing during the 3D scanning session.
3. Once the 3D scan of your persona is done, we will check the image quality, verify facial features and save your Digital image in our database.
4. Our software and scanning equipment will convert the data in a 3D file format that consequently will be 3D printed in one of our production centers.
5. The delivery time of your 3DPortraitPLUS replica is usually 2-3 weeks within the United States and up to 4-5 weeks delivered to Mexico City.
6. If you would ONLY like to get the 3D file of your 3D scan, you can purchase it by itself as well, this digital image can be uploaded on a Facebook account, 3D CAD programs (such as Sketchfab) or as an avatar for Gamers. Once the digital image has been purchased, it will be sent to the email account provided in the service contract; or if customer prefers, it can be uploaded via an iCloud link with an expiration date.
